Climate change is an intergenerational problem that requires an intergenerational solution!

We are creating a climate movement where climate action reflects our generation’s needs.

How do we Care About the Climate?

Care About Climate is an international organization dedicated to breaking barriers and building pathways for young people to develop skills for confidently engaging and making an impact in climate policy spaces.

We are committed to decoding climate policy lingo and supporting young people in realizing their full potential as climate policy experts to build political will that sustains long-term change.

Our Purpose: Taking Back our Future

Thirty years ago, the world came together in Rio, Brazil to create the United Nations Framework on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to tackle climate change and safeguard the planet for future generations. Today, we live in a world on track to warm by nearly 3°C, where every child and young person is vulnerable to at least one climate impact.

Despite their future being on the line, only 5% of young people who participate in global climate negotiation processes feel their voices make an impact. We are changing that narrative.

Care About Climate represents the Rio future generations and exists because political leaders have not kept their promise to safeguard our future from climate change.

We use the powers of democratic organizing, workforce development, and capacity building for engagement in climate policy-making spaces to take back our future.

How We Take Action

Our program model meets young people where they are at - whether they’re just discovering the climate movement or amplifying their justice-driven voices on the global stage at the UN Climate Negotiations.

NDC Equity Tracker

94% of young participants in multilateral climate policy spaces don’t feel like their voices are heard. The International Climate Policy and Advocacy Course offers a virtual, self-paced, and multilingual series of modules for young leaders to learn about current climate negotiations, gain new skills for being an effective advocate, and take care of their mental health while saving the world.

We are training the next generation of young feminists to hold their leaders accountable to inclusive and ambitious climate commitments to the Paris Agreement that keep 1.5 degrees within reach, secure intergenerational collaboration, and promote gender mainstreaming.

UN Climate Change Task Force

Through our UN Climate Task Force, young leaders are empowered with skills, resources, and accreditation to hold their leader’s accountable to climate justice on the world’s largest climate stage. We cultivate a range of opportunities, events, and connections to policy-makers to unite young people around climate justice and co-create our future.
