Munem Shahriar ( he/him )
Munem Shahriar is a Bangladeshi climate activist and youth climate advocate. He began his activism journey as a teenager with YouthNet for Climate Justice at a local level. Now he is a Youth Climate Ambassador in Bangladesh. He has a special interest in NAP (National Adaptation Plan). Through his work at this field level, Munem has gradually developed himself as a climate warrior by learning about the effects of climate on human life and their misery. A 11th class student of Dhaka Residential Model College, he is actively conducting various campaigns and field-level activities for the realization of climate justice with the training of Youthnet for Climate Justice Network. He is also actively involved in the youth’s ‘Fridays for Future’ movement and he is also an online member of Amnesty International. He dreams that in the coming times, the world will be green, where there will be no environmental pollution, and there will be no climate crisis risk. Thus, Climate Activist Munem is working hard to build a green and secure future for all. He is also engaged in various youth-led organizations focusing on adaptation and climate change.
Besides, Munem has completed his course from University of Michigan in 'Environmental Health' in 2021. Now he is continuing his advocacy with the local government for the improvement of his society. He has also done two major projects for his society, one of them was a joint project of ICCCAD with Tanzania and Zambia. Now he is looking forward to beginning his journey with Care About Climate and mobilizing communities across the world.
