Website Content Creation Volunteer

Hours: ~6 hours/week

Description: Care About Climate is seeking a volunteer for the Website Content Creation role, with a time commitment of about 6 hours per week (varying). Our ideal candidate would be able to fulfill all of the following tasks, but we will consider onboarding two volunteers if needed. This position will require the use of Squarespace and Google Analytics. If you are not familiar with these tools we are open to teaching you, however, it will require some independent learning. Please see the following position description and instructions for applying. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Make edits to the website as requested from Program Directors for programs

  • Post events and blogs onto the website weekly 

  • Update descriptions and titles on the website to improve SEO (search engine optimization)

  • Update photos and team descriptions as needed 

  • Attend weekly Communications Team meetings

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Interest in climate activism and commitment to justice and equity

  • Strong written skills

  • Attentiveness to deadlines

  • Independent work ethic

  • Bonus: ability to translate some content into one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Mandarin, or Arabic

Pluses (not at all required, but if you have them, mention them when you apply!):

  • Experience with Squarespace and website design

  • Experience with Google Analytics

  • Ability to read and/or write in one or more language: Spanish, French, Portuguese

Note: This is currently an unpaid position, though we are happy to work with you if you’d like the role to meet any school internship or volunteer requirements. Although we aim to hire and stipend more people in the future, a majority of the Care About Climate team consists of volunteers.
